Who do I contact regarding housing information?

USF students are able to apply online, through

USFConnect for campushousing. The online application can

be found at http://www.usfca.edu/artsci/graduate/housing/.

You can then login with your USF Connect Username and Password

and begin applying for housing. If you are interested in on-campus housing, apply early as space is very limited.

Where do most graduate students live?

Most of our graduate students tend to live off-campus because they find it less expensive than living in the graduate housing on campus—and because campus housing is limited and quickly fills up.

Can you tell me about the rental/housing market in San Francisco?

The rental market in San Francisco is expensive.  Studios or one-bedroom apartments can range anywhere from $1,200+ to $1,500+ per month, sometimes including utilities—but sometimes not including utilities.  Share rentals can range from $800 to $1,000+ depending upon how many people share in the rental.  On top of rental expense, finding an apartment in San Francisco can be the most stressful part of beginning your graduate program.  Therefore, we advise students to arrive as early as possible and to allow as much time as possible to secure the best housing possible for their financial situation.  Please do not leave housing needs until the last minute.  Our current students will tell you it is the biggest mistake they made during their first semester; i.e., not arriving sooner to secure housing.
